On July 9th, the Blue Shield PI Pedro Seabra participated as a guest speaker of the Jean Monnet Summer School on EU Policy Making: Exploring the external dimensions of EU policy-making, jointly organised by VUB Brussels School of Governance and NOVA FCSH, which brought over 40 European student participants to Colégio Alfredo Negreiros, in Lisbon. In this context, he delivered a session on European Maritime Security, focusing on the strategic evolution of the EU as a maritime security actor, its key instruments and operations, and the main dilemmas and priorities for the years ahead. The session also served the purpose to present the Blue Shield project and engage students on the discussions surrounding the concept of blue citizenship.
